About
Alejandro Mena

Alejandro Mena is the son of Nemesio Mena, Radio Operator of the O'Sullivan Crew 713 of the 857th Bomb Squadron of the 492nd Bomb Group, which flew out of North Pickenham, England, bombing targets over Nazi-occupied Europe in 1944.

Nemesio Mena served his country in the U S Army Air Force during WWII and in the U S Air Force during the Korean and VietNam conflicts. He passed away on December 27, 2007. Inspired by his father's love of God, Country and Family, Alejandro has dedicated this film to his father, the crew he served with and all the men who served in the 492nd Bomb Group.

Alejandro Mena is a filmmaker and artist living in Dallas, Texas. He has been professionally employed in the Texas film/video/live events industry for 25 years+. During this time Alejandro has worked on countless commercials, music videos, corporate videos, television series (scripted and “reality”) and big budget, low budget and "no budget" feature films. He has worn the hats over the years of producer, script supervisor, assistant director and grip/electrician.

Alejandro has produced 7 major film festivals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, most recently serving as Director of Operations for the 2018 Women Texas Film Festival. From 2019 through the present, Alejandro has produced 19 high-end corporate videos for Toyota of North America through the ad agency Stage 3. He also served as Line Producer on the independent short film URBEX, which is scheduled for a late 2021 release. He has recently been working in other non-film related art endeavors, working primarily in mixed media and collage art.

Alejandro is an avid book reader and collector, whose personal library now numbers over 1,000 books and counting. Sadly, he is also a fan of the Washington Football Team.

CREW 713 is Alejandro Mena's first documentary film.
